Tim Weelborg serves as Executive Director of the Enterprise Institute. He works as an entrepreneur coach specializing in early-stage financing. He assists high-growth startup companies to create viable business plans and attract both angel and venture capital. Through his role at EI, Tim also serves as a business consultant with the South Dakota Small Business Development Center in Brookings and also is the interim director of the South Dakota State University Ness Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Tim also teaches several entrepreneurial studies courses at SDSU as an adjunct.
Prior to joining EI, Tim worked as a corporate financial analyst with John Morrell & Co. in Sioux Falls, SD; a business analyst in the marketing and new business development division of Navitaire in Minneapolis, MN; and the sales and marketing director at Med-Pac, Inc. in Fargo, ND. Tim received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics from South Dakota State University. He is also a certified Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP). In addition to his educational experience, Tim is a real estate investor and entrepreneur – having started several businesses of his own in the real estate industry.
Tim lives with his wife and two children in Brookings. His community and volunteer activities include: founding board member for Brookings Area Crime Stoppers (past president); member of Downtown Brookings, Inc. Economic Enhancement Committee; advisory board member for DSU Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) club; and a classroom volunteer with Junior Achievement of South Dakota.

Research Analyst

Tom Eitreim of Brookings, SD, serves as a Research Analyst for the Enterprise Institute. In that capacity, he conducts and supervises market research and competitive analysis for clients.
Tom has attended South Dakota State University for a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurial Studies. He served as President of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization. Tom has received awards for his involvements in various competitions in the entrepreneurial community such as the Governor's Giant Vision Student Business Competition and the SDSU Business Plan Competition.
