Whatchamacallit Invention Contest

The Enterprise Institute is hosting its 5th annual invention contest at Innovation Expo 2011 which will be held at the Ramkota Hotel and Conference Center in Sioux Falls, SD on November 2, 2011. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners.

How to Enter the Contest
Registered exhibitors for Innovation Expo are eligible to enter. Contestants can register for the contest by submitting a completed exhibitor registration form with the Whatchamacallit Invention Contest option checked and returning it to the Enterprise Institute.

Judging Process and Criteria
Contestants will give a three (3) minute presentation to a panel of judges. Prototypes are allowed if they can be carried in and set up quickly. Contestants should have a prepared ‘elevator speech’ to explain their inventions. Inventions will be judged on commercial potential, uniqueness, presentation, competition, and barriers to entry.

Awards
The Enterprise Institute and its sponsors are giving the following awards:
1st place -- $1,000
2nd place -- $ 300
3rd place -- $ 200
Additionally, all exhibitors are eligible for the ‘People’s Choice’ award.

Rules

-Previous winners are not eligible in the contest
-Contestants must register and exhibit at Innovation Expo 2011
-Registration is required by October 21, 2011
-Contestants can enter one (1) invention into the contest. Multiple inventions can be shown at booth in exhibit hall.
