Enterprise Angels Deal Dating™ Contest
Wednesday, October 14, 2009 – Ramkota Hotel, Sioux Falls 

Enterprise Angels is hosting the Deal Dating contest in conjunction with Innovation Expo 2009. Entrepreneurs who have been pre-selected from an initial screening round will have the opportunity to mingle with accredited angel investors and other entrepreneurs in a speed dating-type format.

Entrepreneur Presenters will:

  • Present elevator pitch to invited accredited angel investors in a tradeshow atmosphere
  • Benefits include: testing presentation and salesmanship skills,  getting anonymous feedback from potential investors, and meeting other innovative entrepreneurs
  • Highest score based on investor feedback will receive $100 cash prize.  Next 2 highest scores will receive $50 cash prizes.
  • Investors will score the contestant pitches on the following criteria: 
    • Pitch/Salesmanship: How effective was the entrepreneur as a salesman?  Consider knowledge, communication, skills & enthusiasm.
    • ROI Potential: From the investor's perspective, what can be expected in terms of the return on investment?  Consider deal structure, exit timelines & opportunities.
    • Commercial Potential: What potential does the invention have to do well once commercialized?  Could it capture a significant portion of market sales?
    • Uniqueness: The originality & novelty of the idea & the entrepreneur's presentation. 
    • Bonus Points:   Awarded based on the discretion of the investor.

Cost for Entrepreneurs to Enter:


$100 – Deal Dating Contest only
$25 – Deal Dating Entry fee with purchase of Exhibitor Booth at Innovation Expo

Up to 10 Entrepreneurs will be selected to compete.


Entry fees will be returned to entrants not selected
